A DANCE FOR AFRICA

01.09.2011

East Africa is suffering from the worst drought in 60+ years.

I came up with the idea to throw a party where people can donate what they want to get into the party and also tip in the bar into these containers from Red Cross. The Djs will donate their dj fee to Africa as well. After posting it on Twitter, my good homie and fellow dj / promoter Pelle responded, that he would like to help out.

Soon after that, we had the whole "meatpacking district" of Copenhagen behind us. That means four venues with full lineups from some of Cph´s best Djs who all play for free ! The lineup includes Trentemøller, Kenneth Bager, Eif, Sexy Lazer, Waqar, Christian d´Or, Tomas Barfod, Giana Factory and many more!

Album Production Update: 31. August

31.08.2011

Yeah. Its time for another solo album!

After spending alot of time the past year Dj´ing and Remixing (Moby, Oh Land, App, Darkness Falls, Trentemøller, Good Guy Mikesh, Ilya Santana, Retro Stefson, My Fellow Citizens, This Is Head, etc.) - and generally dicking around - I am finally in the zone again. (Well, I still need to finish some remixes for Laid Back, Holtoug, Rosemary and HumanWoman).

Here are some shots from a recent vocal session with Emma Acs and Jacob Bellens, in my good friend Peder´s cozy studio. Looks like it will end up with 4-5 vocal tracks with Jacob and at least the same amount of instrumentals. Artwork designer in place - check - video director for the 1st single - check - release date set - check!!

So now all I need to do is finish the damn thing...

The plan is to release the album in April 2012... I will keep you updated about album title, 1st single, remixers, and other details....

Music for National Gallery of Denmark

08.08.2011

Yesterday I played a short Dj set in the mighty halls of The National Gallery of Denmark, presenting a new composition that I made: An audio interpretation of a painting from the current exhibition of Danish painters from 1750-1900. The idea is that you go see the exhibition and at the entrance you borrow an Ipod, so you can listen to the music while looking at the paintings. A number of Danish musicians and producers have been asked to each interpret a painting from the exhibition - including Trentemøller, Darkness Falls, Turboweekend - and yours truly. I chose the painting "Sunset. Fountainebleau" by Valdemar Schønheyder Møller (1900) and did a 8 minute instrumental repetitive voyage of arpeggios and strings - inspired by such composers as Moroder and Vangelis.
