Doesnt Matter Bjørke/Schidt/Trentemøller/Tenor Bootleg
This track has quite a history.
Its originally a remix by Jack Schidt of the single "Doesnt Matter" from my debut album "In Gumbo" (released on Plant, 2007).
I gave Trentemøller the remix and he then did his own edit, including Tenor´s legendary vocals and rave theme. Since then its been circulating the blogs and has frequently been a part of Trentemøllers dj sets around the world... it can sadly never be officially released.
OMG its F-F-F-Fashionnnn week!!!
Im taking it nice and easy and only Djing at the following three parties at this Copenhagen Fashion Week:
Wednesday with Tomas Barfod @ A Key For Change Launch Party, Blågårdsgade 14
Friday with Eif @ Vs. Magazine Party @ Copenhagen Jazzhouse
Saturday with The Echo Vamper, Trentemøller & Djuna @ Danish Fashion Institute Closing Party @ Simons
Darkness Falls
Darkness Falls is a brilliant girl duo consisting of Josephine Philip and Ina Lindgreen.
As the A&R at Fake Diamond Records, I´m very excited about this project, not just because FDR signed them and I set up the label collaboration between Fake Diamond and Hfn, but also since we are now label buddies on Hfn, since that is "coincidentally" the same label that released my latest solo outputs.
Anders Trentemøller has produced their fantastic EP which will be out in March and he will also produce the full album that will come out at the end of 2011. Check out EP snippets on the Hfn website.
I´ve made a remix of the 1st single HEY! that will be released in february internationally.
A Key for Change
The campaign A Key for Change, where you can buy a key necklace, and help raise money for the purpose of building houses for 200 homeless families in Pakistan, has just been launched. Besides buying the key necklace and thereby supporting the project, don’t miss the chance to check out the official campaign photos by Henrik Bülow and Christel Winther, which will be launched during the Copenhagen Fashion Week. The pictures illustrate the Danish A Key for Change Ambassadors - such as Stine Goya, Rikke Wackerhausen-Sejersen, Frederik Bjerregaard, Iben Hjejle, Anywho and yours truly, showing support for the work in Pakistan. I also provided the music for the behind the scenes clip below.

Version 2.011!
What better way to start a new year, than by notching it up ?
In november I asked my friends from the agency B14, who design some of the most stylish websites, if they would redesign mine - and you are now looking at the result!
(mabu.dk designed the KB badge in the bottom of the site)
I don't think the world really needs another blogger, so this will be short posts, info on new releases - the first one will be about looking back at the year that has past:
In februrary my second solo album "Standing on top of Utopia" came out on Hfn Music, and I was happy to see it well received almost everywhere - from Nylon Magazine and Time Out NY to Dazed & Confuzed and numerous music blogs - you can check some of the press reviews under press.
I travelled and dj´ed quite a bit throughout the year, hitting everywhere from Venice and Berlin to Reykjavik, Sao Paolo and New York, while in-between working on music.
On Tensnakes imprint Mirau, I released the Superbacon EP as Bjørke & Barfod together with my old producer-buddy Tomas Barfod. It received great feedback from the likes of Erol Alkan and Michael Mayer - and Pete Tong played it on Radio 1. On Compost Black Label, I released The Go Away Song under my solo moniker Kasper Bjørke & His Friendly Ghost.
Barfod and I also revived our 10 year old project Filur and released the single Welding Love featuring Daniel August from Gus Gus. You can check all the stuff here on the site.
I have also been remixing quite a bit - from Danish indie darlings Ghost Society and Under Byen to Swedish This Is Head, US band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and for Great Stuff´s re-release of Rah Band´s classic Cloud Across The Moon, to name a few.
In november I signed a publishing contract with SonyATV in Germany - after being with EMI Publishing for almost a decade, it was time for a change - and Im really excited about the new setup and what it hopefully brings of new opportunities.
Im still also doing the A&R at Fake Diamond Records, and had the pleasure of expanding the artist roster with some great acts in 2010:
Peder, Darkness Falls and The Late Great Fitzcarraldos are all artists that you hopefully will get to know (link) - plus, I have some very exiting names in my sight for 2011.
My new year resolution is to focus even more on my own music and a bit less on dj´ing, so I will be playing less gigs in 2011 - to find more time and energy to work in the studio.
I am currently finishing an EP called Symptomes, which will come out on Hfn Music around May. Its sort of a response to the more song based material from my latest album - so this will be around 30 minutes of instrumental dance music - with a remix from Mano Le Tough.
Tomas Barfod and I will do more singles for both the Filur project and Bjørke & Barfod - and also release a full Filur album around october (We are working with some very interesting collaborators at the moment).
Furthermore the plan is to start working on my 3rd solo album very soon - and have it ready for a 2012 release - accompanied by a short, yet intense live-tour sometime next year.
But a lot more about that, as we move closer. Enjoy the new site!
